About us

WINDEA Offshore GmbH & Co. KG a joint venture for the offshore wind industry founded in 2011 and consists of the partners Bernhard Schulte Offshore GmbH, Buss Offshore Solutions GmbH & Co. KG and Ems Maritime Offshore GmbH.

Based in Hamburg, WINDEA acts as a joint sales and synergy center for offshore wind projects and successfully offers special vessels, maritime and nautical services, installation as well as maintenance and repair, port and logistics services, helicopter services and holistic medical care in offshore wind farms to the market.

By combining the different services of all shareholders and partners, WINDEA is able to provide holistic logistics and supply solutions in connection with the construction and operation of offshore wind farms from a single source.

Crew Transfer Vessels (CTV)

Together with its shareholders Ems Maritime Offshore and US Partners MidOcean Wind, WINDEA offers a Fleet of currenty 9 CTVs to the global market. The latest newbuilds added to the fleet are all Incat Crowther designed 30-32m aluminum catamarans with Volvo Quad IPS propulsion which combine fuel efficiency with highest transfer capabilities and excellent sailing comfort.

While our main focus is on co-developing boats for long-term contracts together with our clients, there is also some short term availability among the fleet in 2025 and 2026. Through our global network, we also offer charter management and ship management for 3rd party vessels.

Commissioning Service Operation Vessels (CSOV)

Together with its shareholder Bernhard Schulte Offshore, WINDEA offers a series of Commissioning Service Operation Vessels to the offshore wind industry. While WINDEA Leibniz is already operating on North- and Baltic Sea projects since 2017, Ulstein Verft Norway will deliver four SX222 type vessels to Schulte and its partners between June 20205 and June 2026.

Key features of these new vessels are:

  • 4 equal azimuth propellers for efficient and low fuel consumption in station keeping

  • 90 single cabins for charterers and up to 132 POB (incl. crew)

  • Ampelmann W-Type Motion Compensated Gangway, adjustable from 15-28m level access

  • 5t 3D Motion Compensated Crane

  • height adjustable stepless CTV boat landing and CTV refuelling capacity up to 50m³

  • Helideck for helicopters up to 8,6t max. takeoff weight

  • 360m² weatherdeck + 380m³ warehouse

  • Dual Fuel Methanol readiness including 510m³ tank additional capacity

Project Management & Consulting

WINDEA's shareholders operate in the European offshore wind market since 2012. The project management teams can help you with:

- strategic assessments of port facilities for marshalling and O+M operations
- management of terminal operations (stowage. handling of heavy components, pre-assembly)
- training and material management concepts
- marine coordination and traffic monitoring concepts
- integration of subsea and geophysical survey solutions into our CTV and SOV

EMO also provides full Agency Services for your vessels during portcalls in Germany and the Netherlands.

Training Services and PPE/Tool Services

Together with our partner Heinemann Solutions we offer practice-oriented safety trainings in the areas of Advanced Rescue, Working at Heights, Fire Awareness, Manual Handling, Enhanced First Aid, Sea Survival, Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET), Crane Operation, Electrical Engineering, Mechanics, Hydraulics and other specialized areas. Our training courses are based on national and international standards, such as those of the Global Wind Organization (GWO), DGUV and VDE. With realistic scenarios and a strong practical focus, we prepare participants optimally for the requirements of their industry. On request, we individually adapt our training courses to the specific needs of our customers.

In addition, we offer comprehensive services in the areas of maintenance, repair, rental and management of personal protective equipment (PPE), life jackets, survival suits, rescue equipment and other tools. As a service station authorized by various manufacturers, we guarantee the highest quality standards and reliability.
